Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!
BSI (Basic Skills Instruction): Invitations to participate in BSI for the 3rd marking period went home in February. These invitations were based on assessments and teacher recommendations from January 2020. Ms. Meyer teaches Language Arts BSI, while Mr. Lewis teaches Math BSI.
AAE (Advanced Academics & Instruction): Grades 1 & 2 worked on Google Genius Hour projects, while grades 3-5 read informational texts, identified text features and used comprehension skills to create a project from the MakerSpace cart. During the 3rd marking period, students are exploring various writing exercises and styles and then choosing one style to "polish" and contribute to an AAE hardcover book.
PEP (Pupil Enrichment Program): PEP is back and better than ever this year for all students in K-5. This year we meet in the library! In PEP, students experience challenges that revolve around STEAM tasks. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art&Architecture, and Math.) We've made slime, built bridges, towers, learned more about "walking classrooms," gotten OzoBot driving licenses, and had a lot of fun! This marking period we are learning about Rube Goldberg and making one of his contraptions.
